Third International Symposium of Science with the SOAR Telescope

May 13-May 16, 2025

After 20 years of regular scientific operations, the SOAR telescope has established itself as leading optical/near-infrared observatory facility for the Brazilian and NOIRLab communities. It serves not only as an observation tool but also as a learning and development laboratory for building state-of-the-art instruments. To widely disseminate scientific results, gain a more detailed understanding of the telescope and its instruments, discuss updates in data reduction and processing, and propose new instruments that meet the demands of future strategies, the Third International Symposium on Science with SOAR is being organized. The event aims to bring together telescope users (and potential users) from the Brazil, US and Chilean communities for in-person participation and internationally through remote attendance. This is the third edition of the symposium, designed to facilitate knowledge and experience exchange regarding the telescope's operation. Additionally, a meeting with these characteristics constitutes an ideal platform to propose strategies for increasing the telescope's scientific productivity and mechanisms to maximize SOAR's scientific potential.
