Friday Scientific Lunch Talks
FLASH, the Friday Lunch Astrophysics Seminar Hour, is an excellent forum for promoting new results, practicing conference presentations, or getting feedback on work in progress. Each session offers two 30 min talks (25 min for talk + 5 min for questions) in an informal setting where discussion is encouraged. FLASH is hosted by NOIRLab, but is well attended by related departments within Tucson, such as Steward Observatory, the Lunar & Planetary Laboratory (LPL), and the Planetary Science Institute (PSI).
FLASH talks are normally held each Friday at Noon in the NOIRLab-Tucson Main Conference Room at 950 N. Cherry Avenue. Please contact FLASH talk organizers (flash_talks at noirlab.edu) if you would like to make a presentation.
Note on in-person attendance: Visitors are allowed on site in Tucson for scientific, technical, and administrative collaboration. All visitors will attest to their host that they are fully vaccinated (including eligible boosters). This requirement will continue until AURA no longer requires proof of vaccination for staff. Visitors will provide their host an image of their vaccine card. If proof is not provided, the visitor must mask and socially distance from others while inside at NOIRLab. All visitors (including speakers) will be asked to fill out a daily site form at the front desk.
