Gemini at AAS

December 27, 2022

The 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS 241) will take place on 8–12 January 2023 in Seattle, Washington, and we hope to see you there!

There will be opportunities to meet with Gemini/NOIRLab staff in the exhibit hall at the NOIRLab booth throughout the meeting. If you have Gemini data, an active observing program, or even a vague idea for a project, visit the booth any time during exhibit hall hours to chat with our staff.

Appointments can also be made via email to david.jones@noirlab.edu or at the booth during the meeting. There will also be sessions on time-domain astronomy at NOIRLab (Monday 9 January, 9–10:30 a.m.), DRAGONS data reduction at Gemini (Monday 9 January, 9:30–11:30 a.m.), and the US NGO Splinter Session: The Role of Gemini Observations in the JWST Era (Wednesday 11 January, 9–10:30 a.m.).

More broadly, NOIRLab will be hosting a number of events at the meeting. The NOIRLab Town Hall is on Wednesday 11 January at 12:45 p.m., and the social NOIRLab/US-ELTP Joint Open House will be on Wednesday 11 January at 6:30 p.m. A full listing of events is on this webpage and a list of Gemini talks and posters is posted on this website.

Stop by the booth to pick up and play the Gemini Card Game or get your copy of the new edition of the Gemini Capabilities Brochure, among other items while supplies last. Follow us on social media and join the conversation with the tag #aas241.
