NSF NOIRLab and US Extremely Large Telescope Program Joint Open House

Wednesday, January 15, 2025 | 6:00 PM ET - 8:30 PM ET

NSF NOIRLab and the US Extremely Large Telescope Program (US-ELTP) invite you to our joint Open House! Together, we represent most of the present and future US public access, optical and infrared major ground-based observatories.

US-ELTP is a joint endeavor of NOIRLab and the organizations building the Giant Magellan Telescope and the Thirty Meter Telescope.

NOIRLab provides world-leading US public access: the International Gemini Observatory, the NSF Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO), the NSF Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO), the Community Science & Data Center (CSDC) and the operations of the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory.

We will have two presentations separated by a short interlude to enjoy complimentary light fare and drinks and have conversations with participants and presenters.

(1) In the first session, you’ll get brief updates on NOIRLab activities and then join discussions on topics of interest to the US ground-based, nighttime optical and infrared astronomy community.

(2) In the second session, join us for the latest on the US-ELTP.

Everyone is welcome!
