Gemini at CASCA and AAS 242

Gemini staff in June attended the 2023 meeting of the Canadian Astronomical Society (CASCA) in Penticton, British Columbia, along with members of the Canadian Gemini Office, and the 242nd American Astronomical Society (AAS) meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Staff were on hand to distribute copies of the Gemini Card Game and talk about Gemini’s capabilities and recent updates, including DRAGONS version 3.1 and the new GHOST instrument.

At CASCA, Gemini staff also gave talks on the new GHOST instrument, Canadian Gemini updates, and future time-domain plans for Gemini. At AAS, staff members gave talks highlighting science with Gemini, including results from Gemini’s `Alopeke and Zorro speckle instruments and a multi-semester poor weather program on Solar calibrator stars.
