Akamai Interns

This summer, Gemini will host four motivated students from the Akamai Internship Program! Ryan Foley (UH Hilo), Tyler Ogawa (UH Hilo), Xavier Tablit (UH Hilo), and David Welch-Keliihoomalu (Seattle University) will work under the guidance of mentors from the observatory to complete ambitious projects and to gain hands on experience in the STEM field. The projects will last for 8 weeks and will allow the students to broaden their knowledge of software development, statistical data analysis, and — last but not least — cutting edge astronomical research.
