eagle_composite.zip: A zip'ped Photoshop 16 bit (.psd) example file that contains a full three-colour data sets taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope of the star-forming nebula Eagle Nebula, imported into Photoshop with the help of the ESA/ESO/NASA FITS Liberator. 14.42 MB.

Image description: Undersea coral? Enchanted castles? Space serpents? These eerie, dark pillar-like structures are actually columns of cool interstellar hydrogen gas and dust that are also incubators for new stars. The pillars protrude from the interior wall of a dark molecular cloud like stalagmites from the floor of a cavern.
