Dusty disk around HD 50138

The dusty disk around HD 50138 is part of a survey of 44 young massive stars to investigate planet formation in dusty, swirling disks — likely to become new solar systems. The image was taken with the Gemini Planet Imager (GPI) instrument on the Gemini South telescope of the International Gemini Observatory, a Program of NSF’s NOIRLab.
