Logarithm of the SSFR of star-forming galaxies as a function of stellar mass for galaxies in different environments. Right panel: Logarithm of the SSFR of star-forming galaxies as a function of environment for galaxies with different stellar masses. The SSFR is correlated with stellar mass in all environments; however, but it is independent of environment at all stellar masses. This suggests that the primary factor in determining the SFRs of star-forming galaxies is their stellar mass, not their environment.
