Position-velocity (P-V) cuts of the [S IV] line at right ascensions

Position-velocity (P-V) cuts of the [S IV] line at right ascensions offset by +1, -0.5, -2, and -3.5 arcseconds from the infrared source IRS 2i. The horizontal axis is the offset in declination from IRS 2i. The ambient molecular cloud has a mean velocity of +57 km/sec. A bridge of emission between the cloud and the jet is seen in the first three panels and is particularly strong in panel c. A movie of all of the P-V cuts, running from negative to positive RA offsets, is shown in Fig. 3.
