McMath-Pierce Solar Telescope
The McMath-Pierce Solar Telescope located at Kitt Peak National Observatory took observations day and night before ending operations in 2017. During its years of operation, this telescope observed not only the Sun, but also planets and bright stars. The McMath-Pierce facility is now embarking on a new mission to become the home of the NOIRLab Windows on the Universe Center for Astronomy Outreach, expected to open by early 2023.
