Black holes are a fundamental influence on many astrophysical phenomena, from galaxy evolution to relativistic jet formation.  Meanwhile the advent of large-format infrared detectors on the ground and in space has opened new windows to studying these objects and a broad range of their behaviors.  I will review some of our group's recent work in this area, particularly in relativistic jet formation in microquasar X-ray binary systems and studies of the Galactic Center.
