Vera C. Rubin's Support for Early Career Astronomers

NSF-DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory is named after Vera Rubin (center),  an American astronomer whose work provided convincing evidence for the existence of unseen "dark" matter in the Universe. Beyond her scientific accomplishments, she supported astronomers who were just beginning their careers. She attended her graduate students' talks, included them in social gatherings, and asked questions about their research.
