NGC 6621
These two interacting spiral galaxies are located about 300 million lightyears away in the constellation Draco. We are seeing them about 100 million years after their closest approach, which triggered large outbursts of star formation. For another view, see the Hubble image of NGC 6621.
This image was taken as part of Advanced Observing Program (AOP) program at Kitt Peak Visitor Center during 2014.
