The Moon
Our own familiar Moon, seen by the Kitt Peak Burrell Schmidt telescope on July 21st, 1994. Normally too bright for digital CCD imaging, the moon was tamed by a combination of a very narrow band filter intended for looking at the hydrogen beta emission line in galaxies and nebulae, and the rather poor weather on the night in question. We also have a more recent Moon image, superimposed on a background of stars, and an amusing collage with the Andromeda galaxy.
