M30, NGC 7099
M30, or NGC7099, a globular cluster in the constellation Capricornus, is about 75 light-years across and about 26,000 light-years away. This image was taken in July 1997 at the Kitt Peak 0.9-meter telescope, during the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program operated at the Kitt Peak National Observatory and supported by the National Science Foundation.
