This background image reveals the bright, young stars surrounded by billowing clouds of dust and gas inside the star-forming nebula NGC 6357, known as the Lobster Nebula, located in the constellation Scorpius. It was captured by the U.S. Department of Energy-built Dark Energy Camera (DECam) on the Víctor M. Blanco 4-meter Telescope at NSF Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, a Program of NSF NOIRLab.
