Triple Conjunction over Kitt Peak National Observatory
As Jupiter and Saturn slowly move apart after their close encounter in December, they were joined by the planet Mercury in early January. On 12 January 2021, the trio of planets appeared above Kitt Peak National Observatory low in the western sky shortly after sunset. This image was taken from the Catalina Highway.
