Placeres II Bridge Road Layout

On Thursday 29 June 2023 a new bridge was opened on the road to Cerro Tololo and Cerro Pachón, facilitating better access to the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, and the Gemini South telescope. The newly constructed bridge, known as Placeres II, works with the existing Placeres I bridge. Traffic will use the Placeres II bridge to go up towards the Quisco and the existing Placeres I bridge to go down towards the Control Gate. Shown in this image is the new road layout at the bridge.
