Moonrise from Gemini North
The Moon can be seen rising over the shadow of Maunakea and the cloud deck of the island of Hawai'i. The Gemini North telescope is situated high on Maunakea, able to peer above much of the water vapor in the Earth's atmosphere including most clouds.
