NGC 5394 and NGC 5395

These two interacting spiral galaxies are located about 160 million lightyears away in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is thought that they have already collided once and are currently recoiling.

This image was taken as part of Advanced Observing Program (AOP) program at Kitt Peak Visitor Center during 2014.
