The Egg Nebula

This object is classified as a bipolar protoplanetary nebula - bipolar due to its symmetric, two-component structure and protoplanetary because it is the precursor to a true planetary nebula. It is about 3000 lightyears away in the constellation Cygnus the Swan.

This image was taken as part of Advanced Observing Program (AOP) program at Kitt Peak Visitor Center during 2014.
