Site survey seeing tower

The seeing tower used during the site survey to find the best location for the first US national observatory. This was taken on Chevelon Butte, Arizona, in the mid 1950s, but is very similar to the one used on Kitt Peak. From the private collection of Dr Helmut Abt.
