Gemini South Operational After Shutdown

Gemini South is back on sky after a successful maintenance shutdown in which the helium lines in the Cassegrain rotator cable wrap were replaced, and preventative maintenance was performed on both the Acquisition and Guiding system and GMOS-S. Additionally, we’d like to announce that the Gemini South Status page is operational and we encourage PIs of Target of Opportunity (ToO) programs to check weather conditions and available instrument configurations before triggering their observations.
