21st Journey Through the Universe Career Panels/Classroom Visits Sign-Ups

The 21st year of Journey Through the Universe is currently being planned and we would like to invite all staff and science professionals to join in the celebration! Journey Through the Universe (Journey) will culminate in Journey Week, taking place 3–7 February 2025. During Journey Week we will be arranging in-person classroom presentations and career panels with the students of Hilo-Waiākea Complex within Hawaiʻi’s Department of Education. 

We would like to encourage everyone to sign up to participate in Journey either as a Journey Educator (Career Panelist and/or Classroom Presenter) or as a Journey Ambassador (presentation assistant). If you are interested in being a Journey Educator please fill out the google form: Journey Educator and if you are interested in being a Journey Ambassador please fill out the google form: Journey Ambassador (you can sign up as both if desired).

If this is your first time participating in the Journey program, we encourage you to sign up for a Career Panel where you can share the highlights of your work and your professional journey with a moderated career panel alongside other panelists. Or, as a Journey Ambassador, you can shadow and assist another Journey Educator during their classroom visits. 

The deadline for sign up is 4 October. 

The Journey team is available if you need assistance preparing for career panels or classroom presentations; please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. For classroom presentations the developing resource library is available to help you build a presentation. For many of these students it will be the first time meeting a STEAM professional and by sharing your unique background you are able to change the life of the students of our community.
