The First Gigayear(s) Conference — Second Announcement

This is the second announcement of NSF NOIRLab’s conference The First Gigayear(s) which will take place from 30 September to 3 October 2024 at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel in Hilo (Hawai‘i).

This conference will bring together observers and theorists at the foothills of Maunakea, a cultural landmark and a prime location for astronomical research, to discuss the latest advancements in understanding the early phases of cosmic history sprouted by recent instruments and surveys. It will also serve as a forum for optimizing the science returns of future facilities, such as Vera C. Rubin Observatory. The full science rationale is available here.

Important Deadlines:

• Registration and abstract submission deadline have been extended to 30 August 2024. The registration form can be found at this link (please complete both the Google and Eventbrite forms).
• Hotel booking at Hilo Hawaiian with a favorable price will end on 30 August 2024. See the accommodation information here.
