GHOST Commissioning Run

The Gemini High-resolution Optical SpecTrograph, GHOST, finished the first stage of commissioning on 20 June 2022, after 3 months of highly coordinated and efficient assembly and integration by a team of more than 20 scientists and engineers from Canada, Australia and Gemini North and South. A good part of the commissioning is now complete and during the next few months the team will concentrate on the work to handover the instrument to the observatory science operations team. The press release showcasing the first light observations will be published on Wednesday 20 July, coinciding with NRC project scientist's Alan McConnachie’s talk at SPIE.
