Virtual Gemini Science Meeting Update (23–26 August 2021) #geminiobs21

August 23, 2021

We are now a few days from virtually welcoming our international user community to the Gemini Science Meeting (GSM), and there are over 400 registrants! The SOC and LOC, composed entirely of Gemini staff for this GSM, have been working hard to lay a solid foundation for a successful and productive first virtual Gemini conference, and excitement is building as we head into the last days of preparation.

While registration (which provides access to the Q&A, interactive, and networking features on the Whova meeting platform) is now closed, non-registered participants can still watch the talks as they are live-streamed on the NOIRLab Science YouTube channel. The program can be found here and is a combination of invited science talks, observatory updates, and hands-on training sessions, with a special focus on future instrumentation as requested by the community through the GSM planning survey.

Questions can be sent to gemini21vsm@noirlab.edu.
