NIRI observations of the giant star-forming region NGC 604

NIRI observations in J, H, and KS are combined for this color image of the giant star-forming region NGC 604 located in the Local Group galaxy M33. Infrared excesses identify massive young stellar objects, showing a new generation of star formation. The image corresponds to about 490 pc (~ 1,600 ly) on a side.
