A Panoramic Cosmic Vista with James Webb Space Telescope

There is so much to explore in this panoramic vista, known as the Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science (CEERS) Survey. This mosaic was stitched together from multiple images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope in near-infrared light. Combined, they reveal about 100,000 galaxies. The galaxies that first caught the eyes of members of the CEERS research team are the smallest, reddest dots that appeared for the first time in Webb’s images.
