I'll start the presentation with a brief overview of the importance for Adaptive Optics (AO) systems in large aperture ground-based telescopes, such as the GeMS MCAO system and the Gemini South Adaptive Optics Imager (GSAOI) at Gemini South. Then I'll focus on the GeMS/GSAOI commissioning data obtained for three Galactic Globular Clusters (NGC288, NGC3201 and NGC5139). One of the main goals of this work was to determine the leverage provided by using this system in stellar population analysis, so I'll present the photometry results for these three globular clusters with a focus on the methodologies developed and used, followed by an outline of the GSAOI specific issues encountered and how we solved most of them. A brief overview of the future work is going to be provided at the end.
