PATRICIA ELIASON (Executive Officer for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope Corporation (LSSTC) and AURA-O Visitor)

Pat will present an overview of the LSST Corporation, the current status of LSST and LSSTC, and discuss LSSTC’s role, responsibilities and goals within the scope of the LSST Partnership.

Brief Bio: Patricia (Pat) Eliason is the Executive Officer for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope Corporation (LSSTC). Her career spans over 30 years of management and technical experience in science, research, and data. Prior to joining the LSSTC, she was employed at the National Solar Observatory (NSO) where she served as the Program Manager for the Global Oscillations Network Group (GONG), Support Facilities & Buildings Engineering Manager for the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST), and Relocation Manager for NSO’s Headquarters relocation to the University of Colorado campus in Boulder. Prior to her tenure with NSO, she was involved in a number of JPL planetary missions, among them Mariner, Viking, Voyager, and Cassini, and NASA’s Landsat missions. She developed and managed two prominent image processing facilities at the University of Arizona (PIRL) and the University of Colorado (ESOC). Patricia received a BS in Mathematics from Northern Arizona University and a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona.  Patricia has been the recipient of the AURA Individual Service Award, USGS Graduate Fellowship Award, USGS Individual Achievement Award, NASA’s Group Achievement Award for the Viking Mission to Mars, and served as a United Nations technical consultant in digital image processing and remote sensing.
